Stainless Steel ASTM A312 TP304H Seamless Pipe With High Strength
304H Seamless Pipe is a high strength pipe grade with excellent load bearing capacity. These pipes are produced by passing hot billets through extruding the metal and then shaping it into the correct dimensions.
This versatile pipe is expensive due to the materials used in its production but is worth the money due to its excellent characteristics. ASTM A312 Gr TP 304H is a grade designed for non-pressurized vessels or systems. This grade covers the structural qualities and shapes of different pipe grades.
TP 304H and TP 304L stainless steels have very similar chemical and mechanical properties, but there is one subtle but significant difference between them: carbon content. Type 304H stainless steel can contain up to 0.08% carbon, while Type 304L stainless steel typically contains up to 0.03% carbon. This may seem like an insignificant difference, but even a slight increase in carbon content can greatly enhance the corrosion resistance of a steel alloy.

What Does the H Mean in 304H Pipes?
The "H" in 304h stainless steel pipe indicates its high carbon content, which is a common nomenclature for various stainless steel grades. In addition, high carbon stainless steels typically have less than 0.1% nitrogen in their composition compared to low carbon stainless steels.
