Stainless Steel Forged Flange ASME SA182 F304 1.4301 08Х18Н10 SORF
Regarded to be the most basic stainless steel, the Stainless Steel
304 Flanges are also known as 18-8 grade with a higher content of
chromium and low carbon content. The presence of low carbon content
in the alloy restricts the formation of carbide precipitates during
welding along with minimizing the 304 Stainless Flanges from being
susceptible to intergranular corrosion.
Flanges made from alloy 304 is also known to resists moderately aggressive organic acids like acetic acid. The nickel present in the alloy is what provides resistance to the ASTM A182 F304 Flange in moderately reducing solutions for e.g. in pure phosphoric acid, whatever the concentration, in cold solutions as well as up to 10% diluted hot solutions.
Slip-on flanges, also known as "hubbed flanges", have a hub with a very low profile. This type of flange is usually connected to a pipe by one or two fllet welds (one outside the flange and one inside the flange), it is however possible to use only a single weld. Slip-on flanges are produced in many sizes and favoured for lower pressure applications.
When using a slip-on flanges, the pipe will be inserted into the flange as a whole.
What are the Characteristics of A182 F304 flange?
A182 F304 socket weld flange constitutes chromium 15% to 20%
content which makes them strong resistant against oxidation and
harsh environmental conditions.
The low carbon content in the ASTM A182 F304 weld neck flange
material makes them excellent resistant against intergranular
corrosion.
These are strongly welded at the end of pipes using socket weld and
connect two pieces of pipe together to provide leak-proof system.
